KMF History

Currently in its eminent-41st season, the non-profit organization Killington Music Festival is central Vermont’s only resident professional classical music establishment. Each summer, students from prestigious institutions such as The Juilliard School of Music, Boston Conservatory, The New England Conservatory, The Manhattan School of Music, Peabody Conservatory, Eastman School of Music and the University of Arizona come to Killington to perform chamber music and teach aspiring artists. Performances by faculty members and invited guest artists have made this festival a pillar of local summer culture. The young participants in the Killington Residency Program range from talented high school students to college graduates. Many alumni and current students form part of orchestras and chamber groups in both United States and abroad.
